  • 1 Arrive Launceston, Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre, Welcome Dinner (D)

    On arrival, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Launceston. After settling in, enjoy a picturesque journey following the Tamar River. Visit the gold mining town of Beaconsfield, and take a guided tour of the Mine & Heritage Centre. Enjoy canapes and a Welcome Drink at the iconic James Boag’s Brewery, followed by a Welcome Dinner this evening.

  • 2 Launceston, Bicheno (B, D)

    Drive through the scenic wine-producing area of northern Tasmania. Traverse Weldborough Pass and stop at East Coast Natureworld. Here, meet a Tasmanian devil and other native animals. At Bridestowe Lavender Estate, enjoy a guided tour of the distillery and sample unique lavender-inspired fare. Continue on to the seaside town of Bicheno. Later, you might like to gain a special insight into the lives of little penguins (own expense).

  • 3 Freycinet National Park, Richmond, Port Arthur (B, D)

    Home to pristine beaches, rugged landscapes and granite peaks, Freycinet is a place of breathtaking natural beauty. Enjoy an insightful walk with a naturalist guide.Explore the park and take in the stunning surrounds. Continue south to Richmond, home to the historic Richmond Bridge. Built by convicts in the 1820s, it is Australia’s oldest bridge. On the way to Port Arthur, see how nature and time have created spectacular rock formations such as the Tessellated Pavement and Tasman Arch.

  • 4 Port Arthur Historic Site, Harbour Cruise, Hobart (B)

    At Port Arthur Historic Site, join a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and hear haunting stories about the convicts buried there. Embark on a guided tour of the Port Arthur Historic Site, once Australia’s most notorious convict prison. Later, travel to Hobart. This small capital city sure packs a punch with an endless supply of dining, cultural and nature-based experiences available.

  • 5 Hobart, Salamanca Market (B)

Visit the famous Salamanca Market and peruse the treasures of Tasmania at more than 300 stalls, which showcase the best of the island’s fresh and famous produce.

  • 6 Hobart, Lake St Clair, Strahan (B, D)

    Framed by lush vegetation, the three-tiered Russell Falls is a jewel in the crown of Mt Field National Park. After a short walk to marvel at the famed falls, continue to World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Here, relish the pristine wilderness on the shores of Lake St Clair. Later, travel by coach to the town of Strahan and enjoy a buffet dinner at View 42º Restaurant and Bar this evening.

  • 7 Strahan, Cradle Mountain (B, L, D)

    On the brand-new Spirit of the Wild, cruise across Macquarie Harbour and enter the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. On arrival in Strahan, reboard your coach and head for Cradle Mountain. Encounter Tasmanian nature at its finest during a stay at Cradle Mountain Hotel.

  • 8 Cradle Mountain, Sheffield, Smithton (B, D)

    Take in the serenity of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. This is quintessential Tasmania, where breathtaking landscapes are covered with alpine flora. Visit Waldheim Chalet and marvel at the views from the shores of Dove Lake. Then travel via the mural town of Sheffield to Stanley, set in the shadow of The Nut. Later, arrive in Tasmania’s north-western town of Smithton. Enjoy a three-course dinner at Tall Timbers, featuring seasonal produce.

  • 9 Smithton, Launceston (B, D)

    Journey to the Great Lake and admire the vast body of water that draw anglers from all over Australia. Sample some of Tasmania’s finest chocolate during a tour at the House of Anvers. Continue to Launceston, where you will enjoy a Farewell Dinner and Drink.

  • 10 Cataract Gorge, Depart Launceston (B)

    Visit Cataract Gorge, a unique natural formation only a stone’s throw from Launceston. Your holiday comes to an end with a transfer to the airport.

Complimentary Airport Transfers

Arrival transfers are included on Day 1 of your tour. Return transfer is included on the last day of the tour. All flight information must be given provided at least 45 days prior to your departure date. If this information is not received we are unable to guarantee the transfer.

Pick up or drop off can only be arranged when accommodation is booked at selected hotels at the time of booking your travel, however there are some restrictions that apply to some tours in regards to the number of pick up and drop off options.


Any flights referred to in the itinerary are at the client’s expense and are not included in the land content price.


Flight Information

  • Day 1 – Please book flights arriving into Launceston Airport between 8:00 am – 12:15 pm, if you arrive after 12:15 pm please arrange external transfer. Afternoon activities will also be forfeited if you arrive after 12:30 pm.
  • Day 10 – Please book flights departing from Launceston Airport between 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, if your flights are outside this time please external transfers.

Bookings within 110 days of departure:

If you would like to book within 110 days of departure, full payment is required before we can send requests for any unconfirmed items such as hotel rooms. If your booking request is unable to be confirmed you will be refunded the full tour cost paid, less any credit card fees charged.

Travel Documents

Travel packages are sent to you 2-3 weeks prior to your departure, provided full payment has been received.


Group Size

This depends on the destination and varies between 38 and 48, however for some destinations it is necessary to user smaller vehicles to travel around the destination. Clients are generally 55+, however these tours do get a full range of ages travelling.

Fitness Level
Tours are generally not too physically demanding, however you will need to be able to be mobile, and if not mobile, must be travelling with a companion who can assist. There are specific tours where a good level of fitness is required so please refer to the ‘Prepare for Your Trip’ information for each tour.


Dress Code

  • Smart casual is acceptable
  • Comfortable and light casual clothing for touring
  • Comfortable footwear, good walking shoes is recommended.
  • A warm jacket is recommended.


Luggage Allowance

Generally the allowance is a 20kg bag, plus a piece of hand luggage, however some tours have further restrictions, so please refer to the specific restrictions of each tour.


  • Are there concession discounts?
    Pensioners (Australia or New Zealand) and Seniors Card holders (Australia) save with our concession discounts on selected tours. Ask our friendly team which tours you can get a discount on.
  • Are your tours suitable for pensioners aged 76 and 84 ?
    Yes, Tasmania tours passengers range from children to adult who are 90 years of age.
  • Transfer By Public Bus In Tasmania
    There are two Public Bus companies that operate between Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and other places inside Tasmania. You can see these here: Redline Coach and Tassie Link. Redline Coach also does airport to hotel transfers.
  • Do you have any tours on offer during June, July or August ?
    Due to our off season of winter, no Tasmania tours operate during the months of June, July or August. The season starts in September and ends in May each year.
  • Is accommodation the night after the tour ends included in the price ?
    No, this accommodation will cost extra.
  • Is accommodation the night previous to the tour departure included in the price ?
    No, this Tasmania accommodation will be an extra cost.
  • Where is the meeting point for the start of tours ?
    The pick up is at the “before tour accommodation” hotel listed in the TRIP NOTES tabs of the specific tour you are looking at.
  • Do I need to arrive before Day 1 of my tour ?
    Please refer to your specific tour and look in the “Trip Notes” information where it may state this: You need to arrive any time the day prior to Day 1. If this is the case we can organise airport pick up and pre tour accommodation on your behalf, this will be an extra cost.

    Other tours start late in the day on Day 1 so you can arrive that morning which will avoid the extra nights accommodation cost.

  • How do you calculate the number of days for your Tasmania tour ?
    If you are doing a 4 day tour commencing on April 8th, the first day of the tour is and includes the 8th, plus 9th, plus 10th plus 11th and the tour ends on April 11.
  • Do your tours operate over Christmas and New Year?
    Yes – this is one of our most popular and busiest times
  • Are airfares from my home town included in the cost of the tours ?
    Airfares to and from Tasmania at the start and finish of your tours are extra.
  • Do you have short tours that include Bruny Island ?
    No tours include a trip to Bruny Island, however many people add this on as a day trip from Hobart either before or are after their multi day tour.
  • Does the price include The Spirit Of Tasmania ship fares ?
    The 11 Day Tour to Tasmania includes the Ship costs one way.
