  • 1 Launceston (D)

    Arrive Launceston, where we’ll met you and transfer you to your hotel. Packed with a plethora of old country charm, delicious food and wine and elegant Colonial and Victorian architecture, Launceston has one of the best-preserved early cityscapes in Australia. After checking in, you’ll be given the chance to explore this beautiful city on a late afternoon guided tour, before dinner tonight.

  • 2 Launceston, Bridestowe Lavender Estate, Freycinet National Park (B, D)

    Today you’ll travel through the scenic wine-producing areas of northern Tasmania en route to the Bridestowe Lavender Estate. Here, take a tour of the distillery and sample unique lavender-infused fare. After visiting Bridestowe Lavender Estate, traverse Weldborough Pass, past forested hills and farmland, and stop at East Coast Natureworld to meet a Tasmanian devil. This evening, enjoy time at leisure.

    After breakfast this morning, you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour along Cape Tourville, admiring the stunning coastal scenery. Tonight, savour a gourmet BBQ that showcases the finest regional produce, with views overlooking Coles Bay (weather permitting).

  • 4 Freycinet National Park, Hobart, Richmond (B)

    Depart for Hobart this morning. On arrival, select your preferred sightseeing activity. Spend the remainder of your day at leisure. You may choose to explore the infamous and thought-provoking Museum of Old & New Art, also known as the “subversive adult Disneyland”. Alternatively, take a fun guided tour looking at the history of alcohol in Hobart, or perhaps enjoy a historical guided walking tour.

  • 5 Hobart, Port Arthur (B, D)

    Today, explore the Port Arthur Historic Site, Australia’s most intact, evocative and notorious convict prison, on a guided tour. See the famous sandstone Penitentiary then visit the Convict Church and Separate Prison. You’ll then step aboard a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and hear haunting stories about the convicts who were transported here from across the world and eventually buried there. Afterwards, you’ll see historic rock formations including the Tessellated Pavement, and Tasman Arch. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at Mures Upper Deck.

  • 6 Hobart (B)

    This morning, walk the Salamanca Market and peruse the treasures of Tasmania at more than 300 stalls. Wander through the array of goods from hand-crafted jewellery and carved wooden trinkets to tantalising Tasmanian gin. Afterwards, bid a fond farewell to the Apple Isle. We say goodbye before we transfer you to the airport for your flight.

    Arrival and Departure transfers are included on first and last day or if booking pre/post tour accommodation at selected hotels.

    • First Day – Flights to arrive before 1:30 pm, after this time afternoon activiteis will be forfeited. Passengers will be transferred from Launceston Airport to Launceston Hotel with an external transfer.
    • Last Day – Passengers with flights departing between 12.00pm and 5.00pm will be transferred to Hobart Airport. If flights depart outside these times an external transfer will be arranged.

Extra Accommodation In Tasmania

For passengers requiring extra before tour accommodation at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, a special rate of $450 per room per night is available, including breakfast.

For passengers requiring extra after tour accommodation at the Peppers Silo Hotel Launceston, a special rate of $260 per room per night is available, including breakfast. Your extra accommodation prices also include complimentary return airport transfers.

  • If you are booking within 110 days of travel full payment is required for confirmations.
  • All of our tours require a good level of fitness and general mobility. Travellers must be able to walk reasonable distances unassisted, negotiate uneven, undulating and sometimes challenging terrain, climb stairs, board touring vehicles and boats (with or without handrails) as necessitated by the specific itinerary

Bookings within 110 days of departure: If your booking request is within 110 days of departure we require full payment before we can send requests for any unconfirmed items. If your booking request is unable to be confirmed you will be refunded the full tour cost paid less any credit card fees charged. Please note that no flights are to be booked by you unless your booking request has come back confirmed from our office.

Insurance

It is HIGHLY recommended that passengers take out travel insurance which specifically covers cancellation fees, most claims arise from either personnel or close-family illness before departure resulting in cancellation charges.
We suggest you talk to your car, home or life insurer and purchase a policy that will cover you for cancellation fees in the unlikely event that you need to cancel your Tasmania Tour.

  • Are there concession discounts?
    Pensioners (Australia or New Zealand) and Seniors Card holders (Australia) save with our concession discounts on selected tours. Ask our friendly team which tours you can get a discount on.
  • Are your tours suitable for pensioners aged 76 and 84 ?
    Yes, Tasmania tours passengers range from children to adult who are 90 years of age.
  • Transfer By Public Bus In Tasmania
    There are two Public Bus companies that operate between Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and other places inside Tasmania. You can see these here: Redline Coach and Tassie Link. Redline Coach also does airport to hotel transfers.
  • Do you have any tours on offer during June, July or August ?
    Due to our off season of winter, no Tasmania tours operate during the months of June, July or August. The season starts in September and ends in May each year.
  • Is accommodation the night after the tour ends included in the price ?
    No, this accommodation will cost extra.
  • Is accommodation the night previous to the tour departure included in the price ?
    No, this Tasmania accommodation will be an extra cost.
  • Where is the meeting point for the start of tours ?
    The pick up is at the “before tour accommodation” hotel listed in the TRIP NOTES tabs of the specific tour you are looking at.
  • Do I need to arrive before Day 1 of my tour ?
    Please refer to your specific tour and look in the “Trip Notes” information where it may state this: You need to arrive any time the day prior to Day 1. If this is the case we can organise airport pick up and pre tour accommodation on your behalf, this will be an extra cost.

    Other tours start late in the day on Day 1 so you can arrive that morning which will avoid the extra nights accommodation cost.

  • How do you calculate the number of days for your Tasmania tour ?
    If you are doing a 4 day tour commencing on April 8th, the first day of the tour is and includes the 8th, plus 9th, plus 10th plus 11th and the tour ends on April 11.
  • Do your tours operate over Christmas and New Year?
    Yes – this is one of our most popular and busiest times
  • Are airfares from my home town included in the cost of the tours ?
    Airfares to and from Tasmania at the start and finish of your tours are extra.
  • Do you have short tours that include Bruny Island ?
    No tours include a trip to Bruny Island, however many people add this on as a day trip from Hobart either before or are after their multi day tour.
  • Does the price include The Spirit Of Tasmania ship fares ?
    The 11 Day Tour to Tasmania includes the Ship costs one way.
