  • 1 Day 1: Hobart (D) 10 October 2025

On arrival at the Hobart Airport be greeted by your Tasmanian Coach Captain and welcomed aboard our luxury 5-star touring coach.

Hobart is the second oldest capital in Australia. Nestled amongst the foothills of Mt Wellington, Hobart combines heritage charm with a modern lifestyle in a setting of exceptional beauty. In the early 1800s, Hobart was settled as a penal colony with many convict-built sandstone buildings still being used today. The city has evolved to include beautiful gardens, art galleries, and restaurants that showcase the best of Tasmanian produce.

En route to our hotel, we travel to nearby Rosny Lookout for panoramic views of Hobart set against the majestic backdrop of the Wellington Range. Then it’s across the Tasman Bridge to Hobart City and a short tour of historic Battery Point, Salamanca Place, and the vibrant waterfront before checking into our accommodation.

A Welcome Dinner will take place this evening at the hotel.

Here we may view the spire of Australia’s oldest Catholic Church from beneath the arch of Australia’s oldest stone bridge still in use. We’ll wander the streets of this delightful Georgian town and discover the arts and crafts, bakeries, and tea rooms.

Before returning to our accommodation, we can enjoy some quiet moments in Hobart’s Royal Botanical Gardens, vibrant with spring colours and blooms.

After a short tour, we continue our journey to Strahan, situated on the magnificent Macquarie Harbour. Discover the village and wharf area where one of the few remaining Huon pine sawmills still processes logs felled in the rainforests of western Tasmania and has its history with the ‘piners’ who gathered this beautiful timber, much prized for boat building.

    • Tour Reviews

Travel is such a different experience for solo travellers, from paying the often unreasonable single supplements to not having a travel buddy to share the excitement of a moment with, to the fear of being alone if something goes wrong. There is also no fun in having to share with a stranger or sitting at a dinner table each night with no one to talk to. Our fully escorted tours come with NO single supplements and there’s no sharing a room with a stranger. The itineraries are designed to ensure you have a hassle free holiday in the company of like-minded travellers and an experienced escort is on hand 24 hours a day for assistance should you require it. John
